October has a lot of spooky sights but there is nothing to fear when it comes to the gym! Each week try a different exercise machine to get the best kind of goosebumps! Or be really brave and try BOTH!!
Week 1: Stairmaster or Free Motion Machine
Week 2: Jacobs Ladder or Precor AMT machine
Week 3: Power Plate or Octane Lateral machine
Week 4: Marpo Ropes or NuStep
Here's a quick rundown of each machine. If you have any further questions, need exercise demonstrations or suggestions, please reach out to any of our Fitness Representatives or Personal Trainers for help.
WEEK 1:
Stairmaster - a stationary fitness machine that rotates steps, similar to a treadmill, allowing the user to climb upward at the speed and duration he or she sets. It can provide an above-average cardio workout, while also toning lower-body muscles, especially the:quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, glutes.
Free Motion Machines - an assortment of cable exercise machines focusing on strength training.
WEEK 2:
Jacob's Ladder - the unique designs offer high-intensity, low-impact workouts for both aerobic and anaerobic conditioning. Studies show Jacobs Ladder cardio machines offer a higher calorie burn with a lower level of perceived exertion, making them “easier to work harder on” than any other piece of gym equipment around.
Precor AMT Machine - Precor AMT is a piece of cardiovasular equipment that adapts to your stride and motion. It allows you to perform different workouts without manual adjustment. You can also engage your upper body by using the moving handlebars. The AMT has a console that gives feedback on your workout and 20 levels of resistance that change the intensity.
WEEK 3:
Power Plate - vibrates up to 50 times a second sending tiny vibrations through your body. These tiny micro vibrations activate more muscles, burn more calories, improve circulation, and assist muscle recovery.
Octane Lateral Machine - the Octane Lateral is a piece of cardiovasular equipment that combines both elliptical and lateral movement. It has an innovative frame design that intensifies workouts with a sideways workout motion. The machine contains specialized interval programs tailored specifically for the lateral movement, which enable a proven 27% increase in caloric burn over typical elliptical machines.
WEEK 4:
Marpo Ropes - are capable of delivering a more efficient calorie burn over traditional cardio equipment while also providing a strength workout that can outperform an entire suite of fixed movement machines.
Nustep - combines upper & lower body movement for a full-body workout while in a seated position.
