Whirlpools are kept between 102° – 104°
The saunas are kept between 160°- 170°
The lap pools are kept between 77° – 82°
The therapy pool is kept between 90° – 93°
The recreation pool is kept between 83° – 88°
The physical activity areas are kept between 68° – 72°
For the physical activity areas, dry saunas and steam rooms we follow ACSM recommendations. For the lap, therapy and recreation pools we follow the National Swimming Pool/Arthritis Foundation recommendations. For the whirlpool temperatures, we follow the Indiana and Illinois State Department of Health recommendations.
Special hours have been set aside so that members may spend time with their families at the Club. Hours are: Chesterton: Sunday 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. No Family Hours on Holidays unless Holiday falls on weekend.
Chicago Heights does not offer family hours at this time.
All family members must be pre-registered before they can be admitted to the Club. Family members are considered guests and all guest rules apply.

Children 12 to 17 may use the fitness center floor, but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (member). We do not provide program cards for these children. They must demonstrate a working knowledge of equipment in this area.

No boy, of any age, is allowed in the womenâs locker room. No girl, of any age, is allowed in the menâs locker room. The Assisted Changing Room is available for multi-gender families. Children of the same gender as parent may use the ladies and gold locker room but children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the dry sauna, steam room or whirlpool.

Guests of members may not bring their children during Family Hours.
Children between the ages of 12-17 may use the facility during the week for $2 during our normal guest hours. Please see guest policy section for hours. All children must be pre-registered before they can be admitted to the club. Children must be accompanied by their parent/guardian at all times while using the facility. Children may not use the pools outside of Family Hours when a lifeguard is not on deck.

Franciscan Health Fitness Centers offers free Fitness Assessment Appointments and Fitness Orientations. To get started call 219-983-9832 (for Chesterton), 708-755-2030 ext.57132 (for Chicago Heights) or stop by the Fitness Desk located in the Fitness Center. In order to have a workout program designed for you or to participate in any of our structured exercise programs. A free fitness assessment is required first and needs to be done annually in Chesterton. All clubs follow ACSM guidelines for assessing our members. If you have any health concerns that require a physician release, we will not be able to provide you with an exercise program or complete the assessment process until the physician documentation is on file in the Club. You will still be allowed the opportunity to exercise on your own until the physician release is received. We offer Private, Semi-private and Small Group Training (SGT) for an additional fee. For more information about Personal Training, please inquire at the Fitness Desk.
All members are welcome to use the Functional Training Areas at all clubs for their workouts when the area is not being used for trainer led group classes.
While working out in the fitness center clean dry athletic shoes must be worn. If participating in a group exercise class no black soled shoes (even tennis shoes) are allowed in the studio.

Chesterton guests are welcome anytime during normal hours of 5am – 9pm Monday through Thursday, 5am – 7pm Friday, and 7am – 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Chicago Heights guests are welcome anytime during normal hours of 5:30am â 10pm Monday through Friday, and 7am â 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Yes, children ages 16+ and all Qualified Add-Ons living in same residence can come into the club with member for $15.00 (FAMILY HOURS IS $5.00). Limit of 4 visits per year. In Chesterton, if you come as a walk-in without a member the fee is $20. Chicago Heights does not allow walk in’s. All guests must be accompanied by a current member.
If you join within 3 days of paying to be a guest the full guest fee paid will be applied to your join fee.
No, you may only be a paying guest of the facility 4 times in a rolling 12 month period.
You may bring up to 3 guests in with you at a time. No more than 3 guests at a time will be allowed.
Chestertons primary membership agreement is open ended. Membersâ can choose between either a 24-month commitment period or a month-to-month option (automatically open-ended). After completion of the commitment period â your membership will continue on a month-to-month basis with NO end until we receive 60 day written notification as stated within your Membership Agreement.
Chicago Heights offers month to month memberships, and requires only a thirty (30) day notice to cancel.
Your membership will continue without you having to do anything. It will continue on a month-to-month basis. It will NOT automatically be cancelled â action must be taken on your part to effect cancellation.
Once you have completed the commitment period of your membership, you have an opportunity to cancel your membership. Cancellation MUST be done in writing and delivered to the clubâs Business Office. Cancellation will occur within 60 days of receipt of written notification. Payment will continue to be required until the 60 day cancellation notification has been completed. (If you would like your membership to be canceled at the completion of your minimum required date â you can actually sign the 60 day cancellation notice any time and it will be kept on file until the minimum required date and financial arrangements for the commitment period have been completed â then the membership will be canceled with no further action needed on your part.
Chesterton members must have a valid form of EFT (electronic funds transfer information) on file for payment. If you choose to make a payment to avoid the EFT transfer, you MUST do so PRIOR to the 25th of the current month or your dues will come out on the 1st of the following month. Valid EFT options are: Checking Account, Credit Cards â American Express, Discover, VISA, and Mastercard. All memberships are billed and deducted from your account on the first of every month.
In Chicago Heights If you choose to make a payment to avoid the EFT transfer, you MUST do so 48 hours PRIOR to your bill date. We recommend all payment changes/updates be made through your www.myiclubonline.com account. You may create an account on www.myiclubonline.com and manage your payment methods within the on-line member portal offered through our billing company (ABC Financial).
In Chesterton, please bring proof of your new method of EFT (electronic funds transfer-Checking or Credit Card: VISA, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover) and sign a form at the Service Desk (or with Business Office) and the new method will be effective for the next monthâs dues payment.

All Chesterton memberships that are currently under contract can be transferred to a friend, family member or other person (all must be over the age of 18) willing to take over the balance of the commitment period (minimum of six months) and provide a valid form of EFT for monthly payments. Members are responsible for finding their own transfer person â contact the Service Desk to discuss your membership commitment and what the transfer obligations would be for any person taking over your membership. Transfer fee is involved, contact the Service Desk for details.

Chestertson members, as soon as you find out you will be moving (over 30 miles from club), your first option is to find a person to transfer your membership to and you need to talk to the Service Desk to find out other options you might have. Based on your commitment period, there will be special financial arrangements and information required. No membership will be canceled prior to minimum six (6) months dues payments received by the club.

No, you donât need to do a thing. Once you have completed your commitment period, your membership will continue on a month-to-month basis for as long as you want (again, must put in writing if you wish to cancel membership). If, however, you have chosen to cancel your membership (after your minimum required date and having gone through normal cancellation process), then later, decide you want to come back you will be subject to appropriate fees. No additional fees are assessed to memberships that continue on a month-to-month basis. Not applicable to corporate payroll deduction members
Chesterton members are allowed to request a leave of absence from 1 to 4 consecutive months, 1 time in 12 months. Contact the Service Desk for additional details.
