What Is Meditation?

Mind and body practices focus on the interactions among the brain, mind, body and behavior.

When we meditate, we get a clearer picture of our mind and become aware of the thoughts that drive our emotions and actions at the moment. You may try meditation looking for help with a specific health issue but will find that this one change in your self-care routine, has many positive benefits.
How to get started? Try out different durations, types, and frequencies of meditation and jot down how you feel before and after the practice—and see what seems to work for you. A recent trend in meditation apps and online meditation sites may also help you begin.
