American Red Cross:
Water Safety Instructor Training
Earn your certification to teach American Red Cross swimming and water safety, and gain the skills needed to teach courses and make presentations to swimmers of every age and ability. Through our Aquatic Instructor Training program, you can help recreational swimmers meet their goals, refine their skills and stay safe in, on, and around water.
Course trains instructor candidates to teach all of the courses presented in the Swimming and Water Safety program to all age groups; Parent and Child Aquatics, Preschool Aquatics, Learn-to-Swim Levels 1-6, Adult Swim, and private swimming lesson. This certification is the gold standard and provides the most comprehensive training for swim instructors.
Age Requirement - Must be 16 years old by August 14th, 2022
Required Swim Skills:
25 yards each:
- Front Crawl (Freestyle)
- Breaststroke
- Sidestroke
- Back Crawl
- Elementary Backstroke
15 yards:
- Butterfly
I minute each:
- Back Float
- Tread Water
Pre - Course Date: Thursday, June 30th
Time: 3:15pm - 5:30pm
Course Date: Sundays: July 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st and August 14th
